Layout using Simple Stories and a Dylusions background

As Emma was a swimmer, she was keen to get Madison in the pool as soon as possible! So Nana went along with the camera to get the first photos! So cute!! I only took about 99!! They will probably ban me next week if I turn up with the camera!

For the background, I started with a piece of white cardstock and sprayed it with Dylusions London Blue and Lemon Zest. Then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Sour Apple to blend the colours and give a little shimmer.
While it was still wet I sprinkled over seasalt crystals and left to dry. They absorb some of the colour and leave a mottlty effect. Brush off all the salt when dry.
The Prima chevron mask and some texture paste completed the background.

I covered the chipboard rings with Tim Holtz crackle paint, Broken China.

Apart from the wsahi tapes and tag, most of the embellies and fussy cut papers are Simple Stories, Vintage Bliss. The Simple Stories line has the perfect papers and stickers etc for your 'Project Life' albums as well as layouts and cards. Click on the link and check out all the cool stuff in this range!

You make me smile and so does Prima!

This little one certainly makes me smile and what better way to show it off than with some of the gorgeous new Prima in store!

The background paper is from the Fairy Rhymes collection found here. The banners are a mix of papers from the Fairy Rhymes and Fairy Belle 6x6 pads. I had to use more of the cool Fairy Rhymes fabric tape with the black and white little girl images.

The gorgeous damask mask (try and say that quickly!) is one of the new Crafters Workshop (6x6 Fleur de Lis) found here. I used it with paint over some of the banner papers and background and then went over, some of it with texture paste and Irridescent medium. The Irridescent medium gives a fantastic silvery glimmer. It is in store or online here. Try it out! You will love it!!

Other products are:
My favourite butterfly Die by Elizabeth Crafts
"Smile" glitzer from Glitz Designs, Pretty in Pink Glitzers (Love these!)
Heart doily, Spellbinders D-Lite, Vines of Passion
Prima Flower, Merci Pastel mix
Cute little bow (under the word 'smile'), from Docrafts

Have a great day,
Sue :)

More Inspiration by Dawn Turley

I'm sharing another card I made for Scottie Crafts. I used the Farm House Fair Skies paper once again. This time it was the reverse of Drifter PP and the Whirlwind PP.

I used the reverse of the Drifter PP to cover the card base and the Whirlwind PP was stamped with a variety of Hero Arts stamps. The main one being Big Postcard as well as stamps from Carte Postale set and the Garden Bouquet for the flowers. I used Wild Honey distress ink for the flower and for the stamp on the postcard. I edged the postcard with Walnut Stain. I added some sheer green dotty ribbon to the postcard and added it with pop dots to the card base.

Once again a big thank you to Scottie Crafts for providing the papers that I used.

Kaisercraft Summer Breeze Inspiration part three by Beverley

My third layout I created using the Summer Breeze collection shows how well these papers go with beach photos. I inked the white cardstock randomly using a Broken China Distress ink pad.

I have used the Sprout, Entwine and Grow papers along with the stickers and collectables. I have also used My Minds Eye Enamel Dots and some awesome washi tape as well.

Kaisercraft Summer Breeze Inspiration Part Two by Beverley

The next layout I created with the Summer Breeze collection was even more fun. I created my background with Distress paints again!  I used wild honey, picked raspberry, broken china, peeled paint and mustard seed randomly on white cardstock and spritzed with water.  I then held the paper up to make the paint run.

I have used the following papers in the collection: Sunny and Sprout along with the collectables and stickers.

Kaisercraft Summer Breeze Inspiration by Beverley

I received the Kaisercraft Summer Breeze as my Design Team pack and have had some fun creating with it.

The first layout I created was one using the Sunny 12 by 12 paper. The design just made me want to do a grid like layout.

I have also used the Summer Breeze Collectables and stickers on the layout. The centre of the flowers are Enamel dots by my minds eye - these are really cool! The white dots are using a snow pen but stitching would also work.

Playing with Patterned Paper by Guest designer Dawn Turley

Today I want to share a couple more cards I made with the Farm House Fair Skies papers from Scottie Crafts.

First up

I used both sides of Weightless PP.  The flags were cut from the front and glued to the panel made from the reverse side of the PP.  I took some bakers twine and glued it along the top of the flags.  I made some little knots and glued them down.  I edged the panel with distress ink and added some eyelets in the corners.  I used a Hero Arts sentiment set (It's Your Day) to stamp my sentiments.  The panel was then added to a royal blue card base.

My second card

For this one I used Drifter and Celestial papers to cut the banners.   I used Spellbinders Eyelet Dies to cut a circle which I cut in half and layered on top of the banners.  Tied some brown scrappers twine around the top of the card and threaded it through the button.  I made this by glueing some of Drifter PP onto the back of a clear button.  Once it dried, I trimmed around it and filed it to get smooth.   I finished it off with gems around the eyelet circle and on the base card. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz ink.

I have to say I've had great fun using these Patterned Papers.  A few more cards to share that I've made.  These papers are 12x12 sheets but they also come in a 6x6 pad where the elements are all a bit smaller.

Thanks to Scottie Crafts for providing me these papers to work with

Hope this gives you some inspiration.  And do hop over and see the goodies at Scotties.

Lots of washi layout by Sue

Have you seen the new Tim Holtz tissue tape (washi) that has arrived in store? There are 4 rolls in the pack. I love the little narrow diamond one that I have used in this layout. The alphabet tape at the sides of the LO are from the same pack.

The ticket washi, aqua washi and the black and white faces, which is a fabric tape, are all from the new Prima Washi and Fabric tapes in store. I love the fabric ones!

Other cool new products on this layout include:
Prima Chevron stencil (used here with texture paste and dabs of lavender Distress paint)
Crafters Workshop 6x6 Template, Mini Fleur de Lis ( With white Distress paint behind the photo. Love this template!)
Couture Creations Mini doily stamps (How cute are these! The same designs as their doily dies on this LO!)
Elizabeth Crafts mini butterfly (Have you noticed it on nearly all my LOs lately? I love it! So delicate!)
Pink Paislee Portfolio photo tabs ('captured', above photo LHS)

The background paper is from the Prima Art Journal pad by Jodie Lee designs. This 12x12 pad has 48 sheets ofthe most beautiful background papers that go with most of the Prima ranges.

Cheers,
Sue :)

All things Prima By Sue Smith

This is an almost 'everything Prima layout'.

The background paper is from the Divine Collection available from Scottie Crafts. The flowers, wooden embellishments, metal trinket, background swirl mask and bling are all Prima. The green colour spray is Dylusions 'Green Lime' and the peach is a mix of Perfect Pearls Interference Red and pink pan pastels.

Making Flower Vines By Wendy

I made these using wired flowers and leaves from my stash.
Here are the items I will use

For the baby's breath. I used 3 flower stamen and wired them together then wrapped them with florist tape.

Here is the sample step by step.

Now twist 2 leaves and a flower together

I have coated some short lengths of florist wire with snow marker and heated it. You can then colour it with distress ink pad by pressing it directly onto the pad. Then twist them around a toothpick.

Once wired together I added 3 white roses and a cherry blossom to finish it off.

Dyan Reaveleys Dylusion Sprays by Wendy

This is a plastic wrap background with Dylusions on gloss card and using a combination of La Blanche and Tim Holtz stamps. See the process below.
Use plastic lunch/cling wrap
I lay my plastic wrap on my craft sheet and sprayed with 3 colours of the Dylusions.
I sprayed some Perfect pearl mist onto my gloss card
I then applied the plastic lunch wrap colour side down onto my misted gloss card making sure to get some wrinkles in the surface. I then left it to dry. It will take about 20 to 30 minutes.
I then removed the plastic lunch wrap and completed the drying with a heat gun.
Manila tags work well with this process also.
You will need Rock salt Dylusions a good spritz bottle filled with water and your chose surface to colour.
You can use mat card or gloss. I prefer gloss. Apply lots your colours then a good spritz with water, sprinkle on the Rock salt. Make sure you spritz more water on any dry spots. Now leave to dry completely
Watch the rock salt pull the colour .
With sample is on cotton duck or canvas. You need this fabric to be wet to start with then add colour , salt and more water.
Love the finished look for book covers etc.
You can also add perfect pearl mist instead of water and this gives amazing metallic effects.
I sprayed the perfect pearl mist on the gloss card first then my colours then added rock salt.
This photo doesn't show how beautiful this effect really is. You have to try for yourself.
The technique also works on Manila tags.
I even did my seam binding bow.
Watercolour paper works well too.
In this sample I used a Crafters Workshop 6 by 6 stencil and Black Marble Dylusions spray.
Playing with layers of dylusions stencils stamps and white gel pen.
Love to colour lace as I use it for a stencil on my page. Stamp with white stazon and black archival ink with any stamps. My sample is with Tim Holtz stamps.

Now you can decorate as you choose. I love to collage stamp over the surface with archival ink in black and coffee. Ink the edges with Distress ink walnut stain and add charms and ribbons also coloured with the Dylusions.

Dylusions by Dyan Reaveley "Rock" salt technique...

Thanks for following.

Gorjuss Girl shaped card by Dawn Turley

Dawn Turley is a guest designer for Scottie Crafts this month and she has made some lovely cards for us. Thank you Dawn.

I was very excited to be asked by Adrienne from Scottie Crafts to make some cards for her store. She provided me some stunning papers from Farm House Fair Skies to use. I've made a number of cards which I will share over the next few weeks.

First up is a shaped card I made with the fabulous die Scotties gave me... Timeless Rectangles by Spellbinders.
Gorjuss Girl

I started by cutting the largest rectangle from white card stock. I masked all around the edges and sponged on some Victorian Velvet distress ink. Using the same ink I added the brick wall ~ a background stamp from Obsession Impression. To make the card I cut and folded white card the same size as the inside portion of the die. I then stuck the die cut on the front. Next I die cut a My Favorite Things flourish and some leaves from Sizzix Dogwood Thinlit die set. I added a Prima Flower. My focal image is another one of the Gorjuss Girls from Docrafts. I coloured the majority of the image with Copics and used some Kraft Notes PP for her dress. I have decorated the inside with a smaller rectangle die

Hope this has given you some inspiration.
