Our Sunshine by Sue

Scottie Crafts has a new stash of Prima, so I just had to have some of the gorgeous Lyric range!! I love the colours and the crispness of them. (Hmm.. dont know if that is a good way to decribe them or not. LOL!).

I have put the journalling on a tag at the top, because the bottom right corner of the Lyric paper is quite busy. The background circle is layered with a mask, Distress Ink and texture paste and a Cheery Lynn doily die. (you could use Couture Creation Dies instead)

Cheers,
Sue :)

Ice Resin By Wendy

I've been playing!! Cant wait for the Spellbinders Media mixage Bezels to arrive but in the mean time here goes...

With Spellbinders Gold Circles One 54-390 I cut and embossed a piece of the engraving art board. Then lightly sanded it.

I added red pearls, I also painted a resin rose with Black Soot Distress paints and applied a little gold perfect pearls.

I put the piece into my mould and added the Ice Resin to almost cover making sure to pour over the rose so that it receives a coating of the resin even through it is above the surface on the finished piece. Oh I also added one of Tims Words from the Chitchat TH92998 range.

Here is my finished piece.

This is my next piece.
This is the one I will complete on my video www.scottiecrafts.co.nz on Wendys World
I made an easycast resin frame then I painted it.

With my finger I added touches of the perfect pearl to the raised spots while the paint was still sightly damp.

Yum old metal.

I sealed my picture front and back with a coat of Studio matte.

I stuck my picture to the back of my resin frame with the Studio matte.

I burnished some clear packing tape onto the back of the piece to prevent the resin from leaking out.
Piece number three...
Another painted easycast resin frame.

I used a metal foil take to seal the back after adding my picture in the previous piece. I added my chosen treasures which included beads Tim Holtz film strip, Tim Holtz Spinners and word. Then I poured the Ice Resin and left to set.

The finished piece. I'm loving this.

Lay all your pieces on a shopping bag in case they leak. I usually have a few pieces ready to go.

This piece was made in Tim Holtz clock face packaging and the excess cut away.

Any left over resin pour over text paper and spread over the surface on both sides, leave it on your craft sheet for transparent resin paper.

I even tried a leaf out of my garden.

Ranger Altered Apron by Wendy

I decided to alter a Ranger Apron I got in Tim Holtz class at CHA in January 2013. I chose one of Tim Holtz papers then I painted a layer of gesso over the area I wanted to do my picture transfer on. I applied the picture face down onto the wet gesso and burnished it will. Burnish really well and leave to dry.

Once dry, spray a section at a time and rub of the paper backing. Keep rubbing wetting and rubbing until the image is visible. Your image will be in a mirror image so this technique is not good to do with anything with text. Once all the image is revealed. Allow it to dry.
I used a crafters workshop stencil 6x6 cogs and black and white gesso to create the background. Once this to dry I decorated it with various die cut items and metal embellishments

Tattered Florals in Glassine paper. Fantastic flourish in Grunge paper. Grunge Board Hinges Hessian Poinsettia, aluminum cogs.

Tattered pinecone cut from leather and coloured with Distress Paints. Hinges coloured with Pewter distress stain , leaves painted with distress paint and when dry spray with color wash.
The finished apron. This was such fun to put together. I’m going to wear it at Ranger U in the US at this week!

April Competition entry by Carol Eaton

Wow - look at this stunning creation by Carol Eaton.

"I have made a Family Album from the Engraver Collection I bought from you especially for this.

I have used only Engraver papers, Prima flowers and embellishments plus a Kaisercraft wooden clock. The Card stock is from ColourCore Elements super assortment I also bought from you.
The base chipboard album is Kaisercraft but I have aged it with paint and ink. The gold filigree is made from using medium paste through stencils made from Spellbinders Parisian Accents, stained and painted then brushed with gold-- hopefully to look liked old book binding. I used a bit of colour on the interior to show up the mono tint papers. tags show where pockets are located..
Some lutradur (atype of fabric) has been sewn on for pockets. The butterfly is a memory box die. Ribbons are various including a hand died seam ribbon. Also used  Tim Holtz Cherish and Believe bronze charms to complete the message with 'Together' from engraver collection.
I loved working with this range." Carol Eaton

Thank you so much Carol for sharing your gorgeous album.

Gorjuss Docrafts Inspiration by Beverley

I was really looking forward to the Gorjuss stamps with the current docrafts available. I have now bought a couple of sets. The packaging is beautiful so it inspired me to do the following layout. All the "papers" you can see is actually the packaging from one of the sets. I stamped the little girl and coloured her with distress markers. I have also used the washi tape, bows and buttons from the same range.

Check out the full Docrafts range here.

Kaisercraft Elegance Love Cards By Beverley

Hi Bev here - Now I am not a card maker but I decided to do some cards with the Elegance Collection By Kaisercraft.  Kaisercraft papers are so easy to use for all sorts of projects.

With these cards only products have been used - no diecutting has been done. I have used papers and the collectables from the Elegance range and added the gate, brad, twine and a charm.
Very easy and quick cards!
