DIY With Fabric...

Hello Scottie Crafters,

Here is another tip I found this morning for you, Ladies.

You will need:
- Common craft cutting blade
- Some fabric straps
- A needle
- A hair straightener

Prepare some fabric straps... you should cut yours in bias grain for actual bias tape!
(this is normal fabric scrap...not a bias grain one..
This post is mean to demo how the cutter case works as a bias tape maker)

Remove the end of the cutting blade

Remove the blade inside as well

Fold your fabric strap whichever way you want to bias tape to be...

Insert the strap into the blade casing

A needle to push it will be helpful

Pull the strap from the tip...

Here comes the bias tape!!!

Use the thinner casing just the same way to product thinner bias tape

Easy Peasy...Quick!

Firm the shape with a hair straightener

What do you think?
Will you try this?
Let me know if this is useful!

Thanks for stop by...

My "Sweet" Ribbon Dispenser...

You probably love collecting scraps of ribbons. It can be an unused bundle you found in a corner of my house or a bunch of leftovers from a school project.
It is better to save them all up because you never know when you need it for gift wrapping or other crafting projects again.

But sometimes seeing those piles of ribbons can get rather depressing.
Turning Tic Tac box into a ribbon dispenser is a real good trick to avoid this problem...I hope you are a fan of Tic Tac! :)

Feel free to have a look at our ribbons collection HERE.

Some new Prima Inspiration by Beverley

I love Prima and the new collections have come into the store and one of my favourites is the Lifetime collection as I love the neutral colours which you can leave as is or pop in a burst of colour if you want.  I bought a couple of sheets of paper and a box of the new wooden embellishments and created this layout.  I first fussy cut all the layers and then stuck them together before pasting to the backing sheet.

Items used on my layout available instore:

Layouts using the new Docrafts

If you haven't checked out the new Docrafts at Scotties, then you could be missing out on some very cool papers, stamps, dies and embellishments!
I couldn't resist the heart doily and papers from the Vintage notes range, to use on layouts of my new little granddaughter!
In this LO I cut 4 heart doilies, to make this large lacy background.

One heart doily this time and papers from the Vintage Notes 6x6 pad. Note her cute little headband. It is made from one of the Pleated Mini Fabric Flowers that come in a pack of 6 gorgeous pastel colours to match the papers and embellies.

There is so many ways to use this range for layouts as well as card making, for beginners and the more experienced papercrafter.

Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Sue

JustRite Stamps Meets Spellbinders Dies Cards By Wendy

JustRite Stamps Meets Spellbinders Dies Cards

I've been playing with the New JustRite stamp set Classic Sentiments Edges One, a set of 4 borders which match Spellbinders E8-007 Classic Edges One dies.

Here is the process. Card 1

Stamp a piece of patterned paper with the butterfly.

Cut the butterfly out with spellbinders Wonderful Wings

Use Distress Ink Dusty concord to stamp the frame and cut it out with Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight

Stamp and emboss with white embossing powder then cut out with Labels Four S4-190

Stamp the Edge One "thanks" border on purple card and emboss with white embossing powder. Repeat stamp the card face with Tim Holtz Distress ink Dusty Concord only partially ink the Congratulations border.

Colour the edges of your white flowers with Tim Holtz distress marker then spray with a little water

Make a bow using your bow maker and colour with Tim Holtz Distress stain

Card 2

Stamp and emboss JustRite Classic Sentiment Edge One "thanks"

Cut with Spellbinders Classic Edges One E8-007

Cut cardstock with Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs S5-063. Swipe with a bit of white gesso on a sponge. Split the smaller design in half and layer together with foam mounting tape

Cut a Labels Twenty S5-026 from patterned paper then to create a small mat just emboss the same die onto contrast card, then cut around the outter embossed line. Layer these together.

Build your chosen message for the card using a conbination of stamps from the JustRite Grand Sentiments set on an acrylic block. Stamp and emboss with white embossing powder on velum. Cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Four S4-190. Layer everything onto a contrast folded card base. Add bling bow and flowers to complete card
